It was opened to the public on 22nd of May 1999. It is open Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 13.00 and from 17.00 to 19.00. It is made up of the collection of documents from La Casa Fuerte and the historical collection from the Municipal Archives.
In the collection of documents from La Casa Fuerte is all the documentation generated by the administration and management of the Marquis of Adeje, the county of La Gomera, the manor of El Hierro and the estates of Ampudia and Cea, from century XVI up to century IXI.
In the historical collection of the Municipal Archive, we find all the documentation from the creation of the first constitutional councils (ayuntamiento) of the century XIX until 1970.
The latest information technology is used when dealing with the documents.
