Siam Park celebrates one hundred days of activity

7 Jan 2009
This year Siam Park celebrated Christmas whilst reaching the milestone of its first one hundred days of activity since opening last September

The most spectacular theme park in Europe with water-based attractions finished this first period with its sights set firmly on the goal of offering fun and high quality services, whilst protecting and caring for the environment, using the latest technological developments, the most notable of which is the implementation of the only natural gas plant in the Canary Islands, which is used to heat the water in the park. This huge achievement has resulted not only in warm waters throughout the year at a temperature of 24 degrees Celsius, allowing visitors to enjoy the most advanced and impressive attractions, but also the emission of 70% less gases into the atmosphere.

Throughout this first “centenary”, the park has been visited by thousands of people from all four corners of the globe, including illustrious visitors such as Her Royal Highness Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, the Princess of Thailand, different ambassadors, the Aga Khan, executives from leading tour operators, Paul Scholes, the Manchester United midfielder, and many others.

Siam Park has captured the attention of a large number of national and international media in the shape of leading news items in newspapers, different television shows around the world and photographic reports in prestigious publications in England, Germany, Russia, Norway, Cuba, Italy, Scotland, USA, France and Spain, amongst others. The supplement "El Viajero", published by the El País newspaper, presents Siam Park under the headline “Human torpedoes on a giant chute – Siam Park, a huge new waterpark in the south of Tenerife”, the newspaper The Independent places Siam Park amongst the best 5 theme parks in Europe, giving it position number 1, whilst The Times sums it up in a single word: spectacular.

Amongst the attractions most highly regarded by visitors are The Dragon and The Power Tower. One of the biggest surprises is to find within the site the beach with the whitest sand on the islands, which, along with the great success of the Wave Palace, make these attractions highly sought after by visitors.
