Ermita de Santa Margarita. La Quinta

Ermita de Santa Margarita. La Quinta

This shrine was rebuilt. It dates back to the 16th century although it was restored in 2010. It is located in a settlement named La Quinta, which lies next to the Caserío de Taucho. The name, La Quinta, refers to the home and granary situated next to the shrine.

The small temple has a semi-circular entrance archway. The exterior is whitewashed while the edges are bordered with stonework. Its interior is also very simple with hardly any decoration. The altar of the shrine has carvings of great interest. The oldest, that of Santa Margarita, is a flamenca sculpture, and the second, that of Nuestra Señora del Socorro, pertains to the Baroque period, which is why it has also been known throughout history as the Ermita del Socorro.
